How differently are the macro percentages for a pregnant woman in the first trimester?

Thanks for the question. As long as a pregnant female is consuming a healthy diet such as the diets written by our dieticians available in the dotFIT program, there is no need to alter the macronutrient profile. All the diets have the proper protein, fats and carbohydrates (CHO) to support the mother and growing fetus. Therefore, 40-60% CHO, 20-30% protein (should be ~1gm/protein/LB of lean body mass) and the rest from good fats (mostly polyunsaturated). Additionally, make sure they are consuming a daily prenatal multivitamin and mineral and if not eating fish, add the SuperOmega.
